86% turnout for overwhelming yes vote

By June 29, 2022News

DUSF are delighted to announce that the funding proposal put to Dundee United Supporters’ Foundation members in a ballot conducted over the last three days has been overwhelmingly accepted. There was a turnout of 86% of the voting members with an overwhelming majority of 98.7% voting in favour of the proposal. The Proposal sought members approval to fund works to the value of £215,000 at Gussie Park. This convincing result will authorise funding of Phase 1 of improvements that are crucial to the development of our Academy. Works completed in Phase 1 include the new FIFA approved playing surface, perimeter fencing and improved spectator areas, new floodlighting to meet FIFA recommendations, replacement goals and dugouts, upgrades to the changing rooms and toilets.

This resounding yes vote will also allow the commencement of Phase 2 which includes the construction of a 200 plus seater spectator stand and associated groundworks. This spectator facility is required to allow the Academy teams to play at Gussie and is also a requirement for the newly promoted Dundee United Women’s Football Club to be able to play their Scottish Women’s Premier League fixtures at Gussie Park.
